As a music venue, Club Dada in Dallas is hard to beat. I'm not such a fan of the hefty cover, which can go as high as $15 on some nights, but I'm never sorry to have paid it once the music starts! Dada has been, and continues to be, the cornerstone of Deep Ellum, often hosting fund-raisers for the preservation of this historic neighborhood (no small task!). The smokey air is the typical Dallas bar variety but not nearly as bad as many. Fortunately, one can quickly grab a drink and take cover on the spacious back patio area. Over 3000 square feet of tables, twinkly lights, and local art. Occasionally, shows are staged outside. Who'd have thought fire-spinners in Dallas?! Also watch for fund-raising art shows and CD release parties. Only one womens bathroom, but other than that it's awesome!
