i’m not on the same level of determiation as u: my goals are a litlte more relaxed but yes, i just realised whilst driving home this evening that i do’t HAVE to have things as much as i used to. ie: i can say not now I haven’t paid for a haircut in over 3 years!! I have a friend who only finished half her apprenticeship, but is an artist, so mix her snipping skills with her artistic eye: i’ve never been more happy with my hair!! better still she enjoys doing it and doesn’t charge a centi have so many things in my place that are hand-me-downs from when my parents update their saucepans/sideboard and things like thatmy friends and i even do clothes swaps. not formal ones, but when we go through our wardrobe and think something’d better suit a friend we just give it away. got 5 dresses last month off a friendcreative thinking is the key

Congrats on sticking to a wokruot routine and seeing improvements! I love when you can not only see a change on the scale but also feel healthier. It’s so rewarding to feel stronger and more comfortable with yourself. Keep it up, and good luck with the marathon! (You’re going to make use of all of the strength training you’ve been doing to wear/carry around that finisher’s medal!)

Depends n a lot of factors, but geaelnlry higher protein (nuts, meats, eggs, dairy, legumes like beans) with limited carbohydrates is ok. You need some carbs for energy. How much will depend on how much energy you burn-in dance you will need more than if you were home watching TV. A balanced diet with an emphasis on complex carbs (whole grains, fruits and veggies) and moderate fat is the best approach. Watch portion sizes. Actually measure things if you are not sure of amounts. Like a tablespoon of peanut butter is about the size of half a pin pong ball. Americans as a rule have very skewed perceptions of appropriate portions. There are no short cuts, you will lose about 1=2 lbs weekly. Drink lots of water (some people think they are hungry when really they are thirsty) and alternate aerobic exercise with some weights and strengthening exercise. Stretching and yoga are good. Check with your healthcare provider (Doc, Nurse, whomever) before you run out and start dieting and exercising. They may even hook you up with a dietician that will help you build a diet around your personal needs and likes/dislikes.

Dad- I have been limiting my fruit iaknte because I know the sugar content can be high, especially with ripe bananas. However, I chose to keep fruit in my diet because, as a vegetarian, fruit is where I get many of my key nutrients. From what I have read, cinnamon is known to help balance out sugary foods as far as blood sugar is concerned. Also, I don’t find fruit sugars to have as dramatic an effect on my blood sugar as refined. So, to answer, yes I am keeping track of the sugar content:)Do you have any recommendations or favorite fruits that might have a lower sugar content?
